This guide has been written to assist end users in the use of report parameters and summary levels.
Overview:
Standard reports found in the Pitram Portal have the ability to be configured to modify the output parameters as well as the granularity of the output. As an example, it is possible to look at broad periods such as months, but to refine the results to a daily output. Alternatively the report could be constrained to show a week of data with a shift period output.
Report Parameters:
A parameter defines the scope of data that the Pitram Portal will use to display a report. It acts as a tool to refine down the large amount of data stored within the database.
As an example, the period parameter Period-Month:Feb-2023 and Equipment-Function:Hauling is used as the selection options and it will define the data for a specific period and equipment in the report.
Summary Levels:
A summary level will define the level of detail shown from the selected data. For example, using the period summary as Month will simply show a total for the selected month.
If the summary level is changed to Shift, the data will be broken down to shift level for the selected month.
The same concept will apply to all other parameter selections where they are available for selection. Looking at the following example we can see Period, Equipment, Source and Destination are the options for this report.
The granularity of the data is determined in a top down fashion, from Least Granular to Most Granular:
Conclusion:
Standard reports can be configured to retrieve and display small or large amounts of data based on your Selection Parameters. Those selections can be displayed more or less granularly based on your requirements. In most cases, Custom Reports do not contain such as they are built in according to the requirements collected during scoping.
