This article details the final steps to complete the mobile image setup for Motium tablets. These steps will need to be taken on any new tablets delivered from Micromine, or if the site images a tablet onsite. It is important to complete these steps on any new tablets delivered by Micromine.
You will need a keyboard plugged in to complete this setup.
- When the tablet first powers up it will load to the Pitram Server configuration window, for now close this window by hitting the x in the top right.
- Set the VNC Password. The VNC Properties page will pop up. Set the VNC password, this defaults in the image to mmpitram. Change this to a password selected by site and click apply, then ok to close.
- Select the Network configuration. If this is not done not it can be completed later. First select which network connection you want to configure, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, etc. Select the number corresponding to the connection you want to change and hit enter.
- Select if the setting will be DHCP or Static, type D or S and hit enter.
- If selecting DHCP, skip to step 7, otherwise complete the next steps.
- Set the IPv4 address, subnet mask, default Gateway, and Primary and Secondary DNS address, then review the settings and press Y Enter if they are correct.
- Set date/time and Timezone
- Press any key, this will reboot the tablet.
- When the system loads again it will display the Pitram Server configuration, close this window again.
- They NO and press ENTER
- Once the tablet comes back it is best to close the Pitram Configuration window and upgrade Pitram Mobile to the version currently running onsite. Then start Pitram Mobile again and set the server address to the Pitram Server onsite, leaving the port numbers at their default values. You should utilize the IP address of the Pitram server here, over the DNS name.
- At this point the image and initial startup is complete. Write protection on the C drive is also active at this point as well, so additional changes to the C drive settings will require disabling write protection on the tablet.
