This guide has been developed to explain the process for managing the amount of data loaded into the DOMECube.
Overview
The DOMECube, hosted on SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), organises data in a cube structure to facilitate rapid analysis of mining information collected through the Pitram system.
After data is captured using tools like Data Acquisition and stored in the Pitram databases, the DOMECube can be updated to include this information. Details about managing the frequency of these updates can be found in the knowledge base article How to: Manage Olap Cube Generation.
The DOMECube can also be configured to load data from a specific date range. This article explains how this configuration is managed within the Pitram system.
Select Data Range to load into DOMECube
1. Log into the Pitram Portal.
2. Within the Reporting Module, expand the Analytical Services folder and select OLAP Cube. (Usually the bottom of the report list on the left)
3. Select the "From date" radio button then click on the calendar icon and select a start date
4. Click Save to complete
Note: The time it takes to load and build the cube depends on the amount of data being loaded and other factors i.e. server resources, network etc. It is recommended to only load from a date that is required by the site reporting needs.
