This guide has been produced to show the Operator Qualifications in use for both Data Acquisition and Mobile.
Overview:
When assigning an operator in Data Acquisition or logging into Mobile, the system will check the operator qualification table to ensure that the operator is qualified to run that type of equipment. If attempting to assign an operator to the equipment they are not qualified for, an alert will pop up and if configured will need to be overridden to assign that operator.
Qualifications in Data Acquisition:
- Setting up DA for Operator Qualifications.
- Enable/Disable Alarms
- Not all installs of DA will want the alerts to pop up when an operator is assigned to an unqualified role on equipment. To disable/enable this notification go to Tools > Admin Options.
- Enter the Admin PIN to open the option menu below
- Uncheck or Check Operator Qualification Alarms in the subscription section of this screen then hit ok.
- No other setup is required in DA for using Operator Qualifications. The rest of the configuration is done via reference data. Details can be found in this article How To: Set up Operator Qualifications
- Using Op Quals in DA
- When Qualifications have been set up in Pitram you'll notice some difference when assigning an operator to a piece of equipment. This can show up in a couple of different ways, depending on how you assign an operator.
- Dragging an operator from the Token Navigator to a piece of equipment:
- When assigning an operator this way, after dropping the operator on the equipment the screen below pops up. You can see what roles this operator is qualified and unqualified for as not all roles are checked for training.

- Right-Clicking on equipment and selecting Allocate Primary Operator.
- When you do this, you'll see your list of available Operators. Those with a yellow ! next to their name are not qualified/trained to run that equipment in that role. (This is only displayed this way, if the qualification is setup to allow the qualification to be overwritten. If it isn't allowed, this screen will only show operators who are qualified to run that equipment.)

- Through right-clicking on the operator name or the Person Allocation Screen.
- There is no initial view of the qualifications in this screen, but it will still be checked and if an operator is untrained the following window will pop up.

- If you say no to the override then nothing happens, no event is generated and the Operator is not assigned to the equipment
- If you say yes to the override, then the operator will be assigned to the equipment. However, an event for that override will be logged into the database and can be reported against using the Operator Qualifications Violations report. It will also create an alarm that will be displayed on all open instances of DA with these subscriptions turned on.

- Qualifications in Mobile
- Qualified:
- If an operator is qualified to run the equipment, no change will happen to their login process.
- Unqualified:
- If an operator is unqualified to run a piece of equipment, they will receive the following message when they attempt to login to Mobile.
- Mobile will then prompt for an override code
- To get an override code, the operator will need to contact dispatch, who will then assign them to the equipment and override the alarm. During this process a code is generated. This code will need to be provided to the operator.
- This will allow the operator to login but they will continue to have this message displayed at the top of their Mobile screen
- If an operator is unqualified to run a piece of equipment, they will receive the following message when they attempt to login to Mobile.
- Qualified:
- Enable/Disable Alarms
