Refreshing the Clientdatabase files can resolve a range of issues with Pitram Data Acquisition (DA) and Event Editor (EE). This process removes existing local database files, prompting the applications to regenerate them with up-to-date data from the server on next launch.
Procedure
Step 1 – Close Pitram Applications
Ensure that DA and EE are not running:
- Open Task Manager (
Ctrl + Shift + Esc) - End any active processes named
DA.exeorEE.exe
Step 2 – Navigate to the Local Database Folder
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to:
C:\ProgramData\Micromine\PITRAM\ClientDatabase
⚠️ Note:
ProgramDatais a hidden folder. Enable hidden items via:
View > Show > Hidden items
Step 3 – Back Up Existing Local Database Files
- In the
ClientDatabasefolder, identify files related to DA and EE (typically two files per application). - Select these files, right-click, and choose:
Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder - Save the archive as
ClientDatabase_Backup_<date>.zip
Backing up ensures the original files can be restored if needed.
Note: Files will be 'SQLLITE' or 'SQL Server Database'
Step 4 – Delete the Existing Client-Side Local Database Files
- Delete all DA and EE database files in the folder.
-
Confirm deletion when prompted.
Step 5 – Restart the Applications
- Launch Data Acquisition and Event Editor
- Each application will automatically recreate its local database files by pulling fresh data from the server.
This may take a few extra seconds on first launch.
Post-Procedure Validation
- Confirm that DA and EE launch without errors
- Check that expected data is visible and functioning
- Perform basic tasks to verify database functionality
Troubleshooting
If issues continue:
- Ensure the Pitram server is online and reachable
- Check for firewall or antivirus interference
- Review application logs or escalate to the support team
