How to: Assigning Operators to an equipment

Overview

This guide has been developed to explain the several options for allocating an operator onto an equipment within Data Acquisition.

Drag and Drop

Operators can be assigned by selecting them from the People data group pane.  To do this:

1. Select the operator by left click on the mouse and holding down

2. Drag the operator onto the equipment and let go of the left click on the mouse.

Token Operator icon

Operators can be assigned using the operator icon on the token.  To do this:

1. Click the operator icon on the token

2. From the Person Allocation window under the Primary Operator section, click the Name drop down to display the list of operators.  You can then scroll through the list (first screenshot) or type out the name (second screenshot). Click OK to complete.

Note: the list of operators presented includes all operators in the system.  You can use the "Filter By" field to filter the list presented by Crew, this way the list will be shorter if using the scroll options.

Another option to limit the operators presented is when setting up the panel, in the option "Default Operator Active List" select a list.

Right click on token

This option allows he assignment of an operator by using right-click on the operator icon on a token.  To do this:

1. Point your mouse on the operator icon field until you see an outline around the "No Operator" text

2. Right click and go through the nested list and select the operator to be assigned to the equipment.

Enter Multiple Events

This option allows the assignment of an operator along with other events.  To do this"

1. On the equipment name, right-click on the mouse and select the "Enter Multiple Events" option.

2. On the "Allocate primary operator" field, click the drop down and select an operator from the list.  This option also provides the option to enter other events such as allocation of the equipment to a location, assign material type (applicable only to Loaders & Haul Trucks), set the primary status, and engine hours.
