Relates to versions - 5.2+
This guide has been produced to help end users of Micromine Pitram: Data Acquisition and Event Editor to configure the functionality that determines how searching for tokens works. The information below is based on Data Acquisition, however the process can also be applied to Event Editor for the same results.
Overview:
By default, the filter or search functionality is set to use the 'starts with' method. This can be confusing, particularly for sites that are typically used to the 'Contains' method. The 'Starts With' method, as the name suggests will filter by the first letter of the first word. In the example below, Typing AT to select AT001 will filter to the first 'T' token.
Conversely, using the 'Contains' method will search all tokens containing AT, Including UAT001, even though it does not start with AT. The 'Contains' method was the default value prior to version 5.2 and The option to change between the methods exists in both Data Acquisition and Event Editor.
Steps:
- In Data Acquisition select the 'Tools' menu from the top left-hand corner.
- Click on 'Options...'
- Cycle through the tabs with the arrow on the right until you get to 'Miscellaneous'.
- Select between 'Starts With' and 'Contains' depending on your preference. Click 'OK' to save and close the menu.
Conclusion:
Setting this option will allow you to select a search/filter method that suits your preference.
