Importing Locations as a .csv or .xlsx allows for configurations to be uploaded in multiples rather than individually. This is also an effective method for making Edits to multiple locations.
1. Open Dome
2. Navigate to Reference Edit > Groups > Configuration Items > PITRAM > Locations > Location
3. Export Current Locations as a .csv
a. Click Other Actions dropdown> Export
4. Choose Format: CSV or XLSX
5. Ensure the Download Saves as “Location.csv”
6. Create a duplicate of this file, and rename it Location_Backup_DATE.csv
*This will allow for any rollback
7. Open Location.csv file in Excel
Please note that all columns correspond to adjustable fields “General”, “Attribute” and “Active Lists” for a token in Dome will be present as columns in the Excel file:
8. Add New Location Data as new rows
*Please note that Locations can be entered into any row, and sorting is possible. However, do ensure that the first row remains the same.
9. Add your locations with their Code, Description, and Abbreviations as per your naming conventions.
10. Add any Attributes.
a. If the field is text based, all configuration text must match what is available in dropdowns such as when done manually.
For Example: “LocType” Fields in the .csv must always read: DECLINE, DRIVE, MUCKBAY, OREPASS, PIT, STOCKPILE, or STOPE
This is the case for all text data being entered in the Rows, for which there is a dropdown in Dome. If the field you want to enter is not in the dropdown, you will need to add it in the appropriate Configuration Item table.
b. If the field is numerical, any string of numbers is possible to enter:
c. If the field is binary, it will be entered as: 1 for yes, and no entry for No. This is the case for Active Lists in Dome which are identified as checkmarks.
11. Save your .csv file with all New location data as Location.csv
*Important: file MUST be named “Location.csv” or “Location.xlsx”
12. Check out Location page in Dome
13. Click Import dropdown on the left menu, select CSV or XLSX
14. Navigate to Location.csv file on your drive and click Upload.
15. Ensure it completes without error
*Please note most errors are due to formatting, or fields entered that do not have a configuration item as discussed in step 10
16. Verify new locations are present and correct on the table
17. Check in and Publish
