Several times, you will need to remove some tokens to better handle the information that will be displayed in the reports.
A good practice is the utilization of Active Lists to group data (let's discuss that in another article), but at the end, the best way to remove tokens that won't be needed for a while is to remove the token from the Reference Data, especially if that token is not needed for reporting purposes.
- In this example, we are shown an equipment token:
- Then, let's remove this token by deleting it (for this one, you will receive a notification about the tables that will be affected by removing the token).
- At this point, we have removed the token, which means if we run reports for the current shift, this token won't be displayed anymore, and also, if we open DA to enter data, the token won't be available to add information against it.
But what happens if we need to recover the old token to keep adding information to it? If we need to recover the old token with the same attributes that were used in the past
- The first thing is to re-enter the old information that belongs to the Code, Description, and Abbreviation
- After doing this, you will be prompted about whether you want to replace the information or if you want to recover the old information about it:
There are several ways to handle the temporary removal of tokens in Reference Data, but this one is the best for DA, EE, and Reporting purposes.
