This guide has been produced to help end users of Micromine Pitram set up and configure the Operator Qualifications reference data. The target audience for this guide is Pitram Administrators, Training Personnel, and dispatchers.
Overview:
The Operator Qualifications in Micromine Pitram is designed to track and validate the training of Operators when they are assigned to a piece of equipment in the system. The qualifications are linked to the model of equipment being operated.
The training entries, which include the individual qualifications for each equipment model, as well as the qualified operators and their training/expiry dates are all stored in the reference data tables in Micromine Pitram Portal.
- Open Pitram Portal
- Navigate to Reference Edit > Groups > Pitram > Qualifications
- There are three groups within the qualifications that control this module.
-
Equipment Qualifications
- This section is what links the qualifications to the Equipment Model. Check out the table and hit new to create a new Equipment Qualification
- Code/Description/Abbreviation - These entries need to be unique for each qualification in the system. It is usually easiest to match this to the Equipment Model configuration.
- Equipment Model - This is a drop-down selection that links to the Equipment Model Table in Reference Edit.
-
ApplicableRoleList - This is a link to an active list containing the roles an operator can be assigned to that will check for qualifications.
- For example, you may want the system to check to see if an operator is qualified if they run the equipment as a primary operator or trainer, but not if they are a mechanic or a trainee.
-
Qualification - This links to the qualification record which is covered in section 3 below.
- This section is what links the qualifications to the Equipment Model. Check out the table and hit new to create a new Equipment Qualification
-
OperatorQualifications
- This section allows for a drop-down menu selection of each operator, that can be used to check what qualifications that operator has, and new qualifications can be added.
- To add a new qualification from this screen, click on the checkout option. (Note: Checking out the OperatorQualificaiton table will also check out the Qualifications table as these tables both show much of the same information and are linked.
- Select the operator to add training records.
- Move new training records from the Available Qualifications on the left to the list on the right
- Put in the activation date, this would be the date/time the operator was trained on that type of equipment.
- Expiry date can be handled in two ways:
- The first option is to create a specific date that this operator's training will expire, at which point they will need to be retrained and the expiry date will need to be adjusted.
- The second option is to use the sliding expiry days that are configured as part of the Qualification setup, shown below in section 3.
- This section allows for a drop-down menu selection of each operator, that can be used to check what qualifications that operator has, and new qualifications can be added.
-
Qualification
- This screen allows another way to add operators to equipment qualifications but it is centered around the qualification rather than the operator. This section also controls how the expiry will work. If the table is checked out, the pencil icon will appear to the right of the qualification. If making any changes here, you will need to hit the apply button in the bottom right before moving on to another qualification for the change to take effect.
- By selecting the qualification from the drop-down you can easily see who is currently trained on that equipment, including their activation data and expiry date if set. Along with the Operator Qualifications, this section shows the other details and settings used by the qualifications.
-
Qualification - This is the name of the Qualification, generally the same as the equipment model for easy reference
-
Equipment Model - Shows the Equipment model or models links to this qualification. This data is linked from the EquipmentQualification reference table.
-
Sliding Expiry Days - This is the setting that can extend the expiry of an operator on the equipment based on the last time they operated that equipment, rather than manually setting an expiry date.
- Example: If Joe is trained to on the Development Drill on January 1st, 2023, then his activation date is set to 01-01-2023, and if no expiry date is set, then the sliding expiry date can be used. If for example, you set the sliding expiry to 364 days, then the expiry date for Joe on the Dev Drill is now December 31st, 2023. However, if he operates that equipment again on Feb 20th, 2023, this will extend his expiry to Feb 19th, 2024.
-
Sliding Extension Days - This allows for an extension on someone’s expiry if they are assigned to the equipment after their training has already expired.
- Example – As in the above Joe is trained on Jan 1, but does not use the equipment again until Jan 5 of 2024, then he will flag as unqualified in the system. However, if the sliding extension date has a value of say 30 days after he is assigned to the equipment it will extend his expiry until Feb 5, 2024.
- Absolute Expiry - This is a date that can be set so that no matter what, when this date passes, no one is qualified to run this equipment.
- Can Override. - If this is set to true, then if an operator flags as being unqualified in Data Acquisition or in Mobile, then the dispatcher will have the ability to override this and still assign them to the equipment. This will however create an alarm and a record for reporting. If this is set to false then if someone is unqualified there isn't a way to assign them to that equipment in DA or Mobile.
- Alarm on Override - If set to true, then when a qualification is overridden, a popup window comes up for all instances of DA that have that notification turned on.
-
Qualification - This is the name of the Qualification, generally the same as the equipment model for easy reference
